The Alberta Oil Sands: Filling the Pipeline with Pittsburgh Products, Services and Technologies

Date: July 8, 2008

Time: Noon

Alberta’s “Black Gold” Meets “The Black and Gold!”

In the face of dependence on foreign oil at record-high cost, Canada has an oil boom in Alberta.  That boom – with the potential to change the way the world thinks about oil supply – is creating opportunities for Pittsburgh region products, services and technology.

Attend this invitation-only luncheon and hear about how Pittsburgh region resources can fill Canada’s oil boom pipeline.   Members of a visiting Alberta delegation - Canadian government and business/economic development officials – will detail how equipment; specialized manufacturing capabilities; and environmental, mining and construction technologies and consulting services are in high demand in Alberta.

The Pittsburgh region has capabilities and strengths that our Canadian neighbors would like to tap—to mutual economic benefit.  Several regional companies are already tapping into this opportunity.  Hear their success stories and learn how to engage your company.

The cost of the luncheon is $30 per person.  RSVP by July 3, 2008 by contacting Ann-Marie Terry at the Pittsburgh Regional Alliance, 412-281-4783, ext. 3540; e-mail: aterry@alleghenyconference.org.
