Overview

Το Πίτσμπουργκ στηρίζει μια από τις μεγαλύτερες Ελληνικές παροικίες στην
Αμερική, με 40.000 μέλη, που διατείνονται για την Ελληνική καταγωγή
τους. Οι περισσότεροι μετανάστευσαν στο Πίτσμπουργκ μεταξύ 1930-1960,
οπότε είναι Ελληνο Αμερικανοί δεύτερης, τρίτης και τέταρτης γενιάς. Όλα
τα μέλη της παροικίας είναι ιδιαιτέρως ενεργά, κάτι που είναι φανερό και
από τον αριθμό των συλλόγων που έχουν δημιουργηθεί, όπως ο Πανκρητικός,
και το ΑΗΕΠΑ (?), καθώς και οι σύλλογοι GOYA και YAL των νέων.

Στο Πίτσμπουργκ υπάρχουν επίσης πολλές Χριστιανικές Ενορίες που
διοργανώνουν εκδηλώσεις με μεγάλη συμμετοχή των μελών της παροικίας.
Μεγάλος είναι και ο αριθμός των φοιτητών που έρχονται από την Ελλάδα για
να σπουδάσουν στα καλύτερα Πανεπιστήμια του Πίτσμπουργκ.
