As the Local Development District and Economic Development District for southwestern Pennsylvania as designated by the U.S. Appalachian Regional Commission and the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission establishes regional economic development priorities and provides a wide range of services to the region, including export development, market research, event preparation, business etiquette and export documentation.

A branch of the U.S. Commerce Department, the U.S. Commercial Service offers a wide range of services to area businesses, including export counseling, international partner identification, information resources and trade finance counseling.
