Welcome to the Pittsburgh Region

Welcome to GlobalPittsburgh, a regional initiative providing news and information about the international character of the Pittsburgh region, which will host the Group of 20 World Economic Summit.

Pittsburgh is home to thousands of new Americans and many others with international roots who live and work here.

We are home to more than 300 international firms from 26 different countries, and more than 40 distinct international communities!

New residents to the region and those considering coming here are invited to explore the many opportunities that living in Pittsburgh offers to help you feel more at home. And we invite employers and investors who are growing their international workforce and improving their position in the global marketplace to take advantage of the many services available to assist you.

Pittsburgh says welcome in many languages, with many customs and cultures. But it all translates to the same thing -- home.

G-20: Sept. 24-25, 2009
President Obama will chair this meeting of leaders from countries around the world that represent 85 percent of the world’s economy.  At the Pittsburgh G-20 Summit, leaders will review the progress made since the Washington and London Summits and discuss further actions to assure a sound and sustainable recovery from the global financial and economic crisis.
