
GlobalPittsburgh hosted a subregional delegation from Europe and Eurasia for the International Visitor Leadership Program, focusing on curriculum development and student support in higher education. Participants met with Duquesne University’s Center for Global Engagement to discuss strategies for supporting international students, including comprehensive orientation and community-building initiatives. They engaged in community service with The Education Partnership, assisting local schools by organizing educational resources.
The delegation visited Carnegie Mellon University to explore learning science, curriculum design, and adaptive online learning through the Open Learning Initiative, and they met with the Center for Intelligent Business to examine industry collaboration and workforce preparedness. At the University of Pittsburgh, participants discussed interdisciplinary language learning, international collaboration, and strategies for institutional internationalization, including Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) programs.
Delegates also enjoyed home hospitality with local families and had opportunities to explore Pittsburgh, learning about the city’s cultural and educational landscape. The program concluded with the delegation’s departure on September 3, after a week of professional exchange, networking, and cultural immersion.
