GlobalPittsburgh hosted a delegation from Montenegro for the International Visitor Leadership Program focused on Ensuring Artificial Intelligence Innovation in Montenegro from June 3–7, 2026. The delegation included leaders working across artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, national defense, cyber threat response, and international programs.
Participants met with Idea Foundry to learn about Pittsburgh’s transformation from an industrial economy into a hub for technology, advanced manufacturing, and innovation. At Carnegie Mellon University, delegates visited the CyLab Security and Privacy Institute, the CERT Division of the Software Engineering Institute, and the CyLab Security Academy to explore AI-driven cybersecurity, secure system design, risk management, workforce development, and public-private collaboration.
The delegation also met with GitHub at Microsoft’s Pittsburgh office to discuss the growing role of artificial intelligence in software development. Conversations explored tools such as GitHub Copilot alongside broader issues surrounding data protection, intellectual property, secure software supply chains, transparency, and governance of AI-enabled technologies.
Beyond the professional program, delegates explored Pittsburgh, visited the Heinz History Center’s My America exhibit, and participated in home hospitality with GlobalPittsburgh volunteer host families. The program combined professional exchange and cultural experiences while building connections around AI innovation, cybersecurity, and responsible technology development.
