GlobalPittsburgh hosted a delegation from Egypt for the International Visitor Leadership Program focused on Expanding AI Horizons by Promoting Innovation and Trusted Partnerships from June 8–12, 2026. The delegation included leaders from Egypt’s Ministries of Communications and Information Technology and Foreign Affairs, with expertise in AI policy, innovation, international cooperation, and technology governance.
Participants met with Idea Foundry to explore Pittsburgh’s transformation into a technology and AI hub and visited the University of Pittsburgh to discuss interdisciplinary AI governance, responsible innovation, and academic-to-policy collaboration. At Carnegie Mellon University, delegates engaged with the School of Computer Science, the AI Institute for Societal Decision Making, and the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center to learn about AI research, public-sector applications, high-performance computing, and responsible AI frameworks.
The delegation also met with the AI Strike Team and Pittsburgh Technology Council to examine regional AI ecosystem development, commercialization, workforce growth, investment, and public-private partnerships. A visit to Astrobotic highlighted real-world applications of AI, autonomy, robotics, and machine learning in high-stakes aerospace environments.
The program combined professional exchange with opportunities to experience Pittsburgh’s culture and innovation ecosystem, while building connections around responsible AI development, trusted technology, and international collaboration.
