GlobalPittsburgh hosted a delegation from Brazil for the International Visitor Leadership Program focused on U.S. Models for Countering Transnational Criminal Organizations: From Intelligence Fusion to AI-Driven Investigations from August 12–15, 2026. The delegation included state prosecutors, public security officials, and leaders working in innovation, data, and artificial intelligence.
Participants met with Carnegie Mellon University’s CyLab Security and Privacy Institute to explore AI-driven cybersecurity, emerging threats, and secure digital systems. They also visited the National Cyber-Forensics and Training Alliance, where they learned how government agencies, private industry, and academia collaborate to identify and combat cyber threats through information sharing and joint investigations.
At the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, delegates discussed the handling of complex criminal cases involving organized crime, financial crimes, cybercrime, drug trafficking, and other transnational offenses. The delegation also met with Marinus Analytics, a Pittsburgh-based company using artificial intelligence and machine learning to support investigations into human trafficking, child exploitation, and related financial crimes.
The program also included an overview of Pittsburgh’s transformation and a Diplomacy Begins at Dinner networking event hosted by GlobalPittsburgh and Pittsburgh Tomorrow, bringing together international visitors, host families, and community members for professional and cultural exchange.
