January 16-23, GlobalPittsburgh hosted an International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) delegation of community leaders and activists to explore the power of volunteerism and civic action.
On Friday, 1/17, they had a fantastic visit to the Bible Center Church and the Bible Center's Oasis Project to learn about their multiple programs including Own Our Own, where participants were introduced to the withintrification concept—a powerful community-driven approach to revitalizing neighborhoods without displacing residents.
On MLK Day of Service, 1/20, we joined hands for a community service project in Mt. Lebanon Township. The group experienced firsthand how volunteering strengthens communities and learned why people dedicate their time to making a difference.
They were deeply inspired by the mission of Global Links and felt empowered by the opportunity to contribute through meaningful community service.
