GlobalPittsburgh hosted an Inter-Regional Project on Workforce Development for Critical and Emerging Technologies in the Quad from July 2–8, 2025. During their visit, participants met with GlobalPittsburgh for a welcome and program overview, followed by a Pittsburgh history briefing with the Idea Foundry. They visited A.W. Beattie Career Center to learn about technical education pathways and joined a local family for Independence Day home hospitality. The group also toured the city, including a Three Rivers Cruise. Their professional meetings included sessions with New Century Careers on advanced manufacturing training, a visit to Rewyndr to explore innovative workforce-training technologies, and an in-depth program at Mill 19 with Catalyst Connection, the ARM Institute, and Carnegie Mellon University’s Manufacturing Futures Initiative. They concluded with a discussion on regional robotics workforce development with the Pittsburgh Robotics Network before departing Pittsburgh.
