GlobalPittsburgh hosted an Open World Program delegation from February 20–28, 2026, for Governing for Digital Security: Policy Tools for Sovereignty, Resilience, and Trusted Technology. Sponsored by the Congressional Office for International Leadership, the program explored cybersecurity, digital resilience, trusted technology, and critical infrastructure protection through meetings with leaders across government, academia, law enforcement, and the technology sector.
Delegates met with the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office, Carnegie Mellon University’s CyLab Security & Privacy Institute and CERT Division, GitHub, and the National Cyber-Forensics & Training Alliance. Discussions covered cybercrime, threat analysis, incident response, software supply-chain security, and public-private collaboration to protect critical infrastructure.
At the University of Pittsburgh, participants engaged with experts from Pitt Cyber, the School of Computing and Information, and the Cyber Energy Center to explore cyber law and policy, privacy, AI security, and energy-system resilience. The professional program also included a visit to Microsoft.
Delegates also experienced Pittsburgh through home hospitality, visits to the Carnegie Museums, Nationality Rooms, and Andy Warhol Museum, a Pittsburgh Penguins game, and a networking event with local professionals and community members. The program concluded with a closing dinner with host families, capping a week of professional exchange, cultural immersion, and relationship-building.
