GlobalPittsburgh hosted four emerging leaders from Lithuania, Azerbaijan, Estonia, and Moldova as part of the Professional Fellows Program (PFP) Eurasia from May 29–June 29, 2026. The program provided participants with opportunities to gain firsthand experience in U.S. organizations, exchange expertise with Pittsburgh professionals, and build lasting partnerships around challenges facing their communities and countries.
The Fellows represented diverse professional fields including civil society and peacebuilding, labor and social policy, cybersecurity and crisis management, and local government and infrastructure. Their fellowship goals included exploring U.S. approaches to conflict prevention and civic engagement, results-based financing and youth employment, national cybersecurity preparedness, and the management and financing of essential municipal services.
Throughout their time in Pittsburgh, Fellows connected with local organizations and professionals relevant to their individual areas of expertise while gaining insight into American workplaces and institutions. They also developed ideas for future collaboration, ranging from peacebuilding and public storytelling initiatives to cybersecurity preparedness, youth employment programs, and sustainable water infrastructure. The month-long exchange combined professional development, knowledge sharing, cultural exchange, and relationship-building between Pittsburgh and emerging leaders across Eurasia.
