GlobalPittsburgh had the honor of hosting the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative Professional Fellows Program (YSEALI PFP). A U.S. Department of State exchange supported by American Councils for International Education, YSEALI PFP brings emerging leaders from Southeast Asia to the United States for professional fellowships designed to strengthen leadership skills, promote mutual understanding, and build lasting partnerships between Southeast Asia and the United States.

Selected through a highly competitive merit-based process, YSEALI Fellows are mid-level professionals representing government, NGOs, private businesses, social innovation and entrepreneurship, universities, and other sectors. During their four-week U.S. fellowships, participants are matched with organizations aligned with their professional backgrounds and interests, gaining hands-on experience in American workplaces, collaborating on meaningful projects, expanding their professional networks, and exchanging ideas with U.S. colleagues. The program focuses on four themes: Civic Engagement; Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Economic Empowerment; Society and Governance; and Sustainability and the Environment.
